Hello, I am Eszter, a computational social
scientist from Budapest, Hungary.
I love shooting analog photos, bouldering
and taking care of my plants.
Education
I spent my university years at Eötvös Loránd
University. I fell in love with the atmosphere of
the Faculty of Social Sciences in the first
semester. As a student, I was impressed with the
knowledge and openness of my lecturers, and today as
an assistant professor by the thirst for knowledge
and curiosity of my students. My studies in
Humanities and Computer Science have also
contributed a lot to the way I see the world
today.
In March 2023, an old dream of mine came true: I
became a doctor, I have a PhD in Interdisciplinary
Social Research.

Research
As a computational social scientist, and with methodology as my main focus, I constantly gain new insights into a variety of areas in sociology and social sciences. I am involved in projects for various research groups: analysing depression forums; testimonies of Holocaust survivors, and predicting corruption risk in public procurement. My main areas of expertise are natural language processing and data visualization.

Data Science in Social Research
Discursive framing of depression in online health communities
The main objective of our research is the
analysis of protocols made in 1945 by the
National Committee for the Care of Deportees
(DEGOB), which are the testimony transcripts
of Hungarian Holocaust survivors.

Government Transparency Institute is a
non-partisan think tank researching and
advocating good governance. Our main themes
include corruption, collusion, spending
efficiency, administrative quality, public
procurement, and legislative processes.

I am an assistant professor at the Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Social Sciences (Department for Social Research Methodology). I teach mainly BA courses in Sociology (Hungarian and English) and MSc courses in Survey Statistics and Data Analytics. I also teach courses alongside my full-time university job.
